We believe that vertical farming and CEA is the final piece of the puzzle in creating self-sustaining agriculture in the UK. We are here to complement the UK’s agricultural system, rather than replace it; growing when it’s too cold or too dark to grow more fresh, local food than ever.
Vertical farming is a nascent industry which can help transition our agriculture systems towards a more productive, more sustainable future. We strongly feel that bringing our customers and partners along with us as we break new ground is key to vertical farming’s success.
Our current agricultural systems are too harsh on our environment and natural resources. By growing indoors we can eliminate the need for harsh chemicals, drastically reduce the water usage for growing and even fully utilise renewable energy to power our growth.
Quality is the first thing on our minds as we grow and our vertical farming techniques allow us to feed our plants exactly what they need; the temperature, humidity, water EC, nutrient mix can be optimised without having to worry about battling the weather. Vertical farming gives us more time to focus on growing and quality.
Another risk of growing outdoors is a lack of consistency in quality, if the temperature drops too low or there’s an outbreak of bacteria, entire crops can be affected. We grow indoors because this allows us to take back control and grow amazing quality food with full reliability, 365 days a year.
The sky's the limit for vertical farming’s applications as well as its ability to save resources and cost for farmers. Innovation is at our core, building on centuries of agricultural pedigree to take our knowledge and methods even further. This is why we use the tag line “rooted in innovation”.
Whilst our farms are highly automated, reducing cost and complexity as well as improving yield, there are still people at the heart of our work; agronomists, engineers, software developers each leaving their fingerprints on the farms we build and the food we grow.
